Important Saturday Update: Our new start time is 10:00 a.m. Arctic Valley has approved our route up Muk Tuk, over Rendezvous Peak, and down by chairlift.

This is going to be a fun one! We’ll start at the Muktuk Marston trailhead at Arctic Valley, follow the Marston Trail to Hunter Pass, then climb Rendezvous Ridge to Rendezvous Peak. We’ll finish at the top of Chair 2 and enjoy a scenic chairlift ride back down.

Distance: approximately 8 miles
Elevation gain: approximately 1,700–2,000 feet
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
Estimated time: about 4 hours, including breaks
Pace: Moderate, with regrouping at trail junctions and major climbs

CHAIRLIFT DETAILS
The lift is scheduled to operate from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. A one-way downhill ticket is $20 for the general public age 14+, with discounted rates for children, military/veterans, members, and passholders. Purchase your ticket online in advance or at the Rendezvous Cafe. Everyone must check in at the cafe, sign or verify the waiver, and receive a ticket before boarding.
IMPORTANT: Dogs are not allowed on the chairlift, so please leave dogs at home for this hike.

MEETING PLACE
Meet at the Muktuk Marston trailhead near the lower Arctic Valley parking area. Please arrive by 9:45 a.m. so we can begin hiking promptly at 10:00.

PARKING
Arctic Valley charges a $5 daily parking fee per vehicle unless you have a current Arctic Valley membership. The Alaska State Parks pass is not valid here.

WHAT TO BRING
Water, snacks or lunch, bear spray, sturdy hiking shoes or boots, rain gear, and warm layers for the exposed ridge and chairlift ride. Trekking poles are recommended.

The chairlift may be canceled because of rain, wind, or other weather conditions. If it does not operate, we will hike Muk Tuk Marston trail in and out, which is also 8 miles RT.

This is a group hike, not a professionally guided trip. Each participant is responsible for assessing their own fitness, gear, and comfort with mountain terrain.
