Little O'Malley Peak

Let's hike Little O'Malley this Sunday, 10/18/26, at 10:30am AKDT. This hike is located at the Glenn Alps Trailhead. It's 4 miles RT and rated moderate with an elevation gain of 1800 feet.

Lisa M. Maloney describes it as "the shortest, sweetest mountain hike in the valley. Instant gratification" in her book, 50 Hikes Around Anchorage.

The weather calls for some sunshine while we’re out there. It’s supposed go to 32 degrees tonight and tomorrow morning. As such, I’d bring micro-spikes or kahtoolas, trekking poles, warm layers, and gloves. Temperatures on the upper mountain may be colder than the Glen Alps forecast.

Don’t forget water and snacks. Please be bear prepared with spray, bells, and bear horn.

Dogs are welcome. Please leash them if you don’t have voice control over them. 🤓

Please meet in the upper, first parking lot near the park caretaker cabin and pay station are located. There is a $5 fee to park.
