Meet: Prospect Heights Trailhead
Distance: Approximately 7.5–8 miles
Elevation gain: Approximately 2,100 feet
Time: 4½–5½ hours
Difficulty: Strenuous

Please arrive on-time and let me know if you are not coming if you RSVPd.

Expect frozen or muddy ground, possible ice and colder, windier conditions higher on the mountain. Bring waterproof hiking boots, warm layers, rain gear, water, lunch, and readily accessible bear spray. Microspikes and trekking poles are strongly recommended.
We may turn around before the summit if the trail becomes icy or the weather deteriorates.

What to bring

  • Waterproof hiking boots with good traction
  • Microspikes
  • Trekking poles
  • Warm layers, including gloves and a hat
  • Waterproof and windproof outer layer
  • Water and substantial snacks or lunch
  • Bear spray carried where you can reach it immediately
  • Headlamp
  • Personal first-aid supplies

This is a weather-dependent hike. We may shorten the route or turn around before the summit if the upper trail becomes icy, visibility deteriorates or rain and snow begin accumulating. Reaching the summit is never guaranteed.

Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. Each attendee is responsible for being properly equipped and physically prepared for a strenuous hike in changing fall conditions.
