Behavior.MN Relaunch Event

Details

We're excited to announce the relaunch of Behavior.MN!

This event marks the start of an ongoing series of events focused on exploring proven and universal aspects of human behavior, and translating them into actionable insights that can influence how we approach products, strategy, and design.

EVENT TOPIC

The relaunch event will feature three presentations from local behavior design experts:

Presentation 1: "Do you trust me? Examining how we build trust (and break it) within digital products."

This simple question defines what’s possible in any relationship and yet it’s hard to nail down. How much trust do you need? How quickly do you need it? Do you already have some? All of these questions make establishing enough trust a moving target. We will take a closer look at not only how we build trust with consumers but also with each other. We’ll investigate what this could look like across various channels. Trust us—it’s going to be great 😉

Presented by Sarah Chaussee, Senior UX Designer at Optum & Josh Bartelme, Consumer Experience Designer at Optum

Presentation 2: "Behavioral Design - A Genesis Story"

Behavior design and behavioral economics have been prominently featured in the media over last 10 years, however few of these articles explain the underlying reasons why these aberrations of human behavior might exist. This talk will explore lessons from cognitive and evolutionary psychology that might drive these aberrant behaviors and examine some lesser known but important basics of behavioral design.

Presented by Taylor Larson, Director of Strategy + Behavior Design at Rêve Consulting

Presentation 3: "To track or not to track... the complexities of fitness and health trackers when it comes to behavior change."

How quantified are you? Fitness and health trackers are a part of our social landscape. But do they work? We'll chat about the current research and examine when they can be successful--and when you might consider saving your money (or investing it elsewhere). We'll wrap up on a practical note, diving into strategies to make trackers and apps a more successful tool in your behavior change toolbox. This is the part of the evening when you get to think about your own health and well-being!

Presented by Trystan Hansen, Well-being Product Supervisor at Health Partners
