About us

BE Ka Art Studio is a creative space where art, nature, wellbeing and human connection converge.

Located in Elena's riverside atelier at Trinity Buoy Wharf — moments from Canary Wharf — the studio offers in-person and online classes and workshops where you can explore your creativity and connect with others in a welcoming, relaxed environment.

About Elena

Elena is an Italian visual artist and creative wellbeing workshops director, originally from Bologna and now based in London. Passionate about creativity from an early age, she studied Fine Arts and Sciences as a teenager before going on to earn first-class degrees, including a BA in Painting and Photography from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna — where she also worked as an assistant to a professor on the etching course — a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Arts, and a Master's in Art and Science from Central Saint Martins (UAL). She is also certified in Creative Health and Wellbeing through Artmaking at Central Saint Martins.

Her background is as layered as her practice — she has worked as a photographer, graphic designer and gallery assistant for international artists, exhibited in Bologna, Venice, Milan and London, and previously trained as a Hatha yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner. These experiences all shape her warm, holistic approach to art and teaching. Elena holds an Enhanced DBS check and teaches on platforms including Tutorful, MyTutor and Superprof.

Classes & Workshops

Classes and workshops are deeply rooted in health and wellbeing through artmaking, human connection and nature. Open to all, regardless of experience or background, Elena has taught students and professionals of all ages and nationalities, in one-to-one and group settings, both online and in person. Workshops are designed to be as accessible, allergy-friendly and environmentally sustainable as possible.

Her approach is relaxed and playful, encouraging you to connect with materials, with others, and with yourself.

Creative practices do more than inspire — they heal. They reduce stress hormones, calm the nervous system, ease physical tension and pain, and support emotional balance. In creative flow, the brain enters a meditative state, bringing clarity and relaxation.

Art helps you slow down, reconnect, and feel grounded. It's not about the result — it's about the experience.

Creativity is medicine.

Join BE KA Art Studio, Elena’s riverside atelier at Trinity Buoy Wharf, for a hands-on cyanotype taster session. Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic printing processes – and one of the most satisfying and sustainable. Using sunlight, water, and natural materials, you'll arrange botanicals, feathers, shells, and found objects onto coated paper, expose them to light, then rinse your print and watch the image bloom in that distinctive, deep, luminous blue. No cameras, no screens, no prior experience needed. Just you, some plants, and the light drawing shapes for you.
If the weather's overcast, UV light has you covered.
You’ll leave with your own original cyanotype artworks.

    What You'll Do

    • Arrange botanicals, wooden letters, and other objects to compose your own cyanotype prints
    • You're welcome to bring small objects, lace, flowers or negative film of your own if you'd like
    • Expose your work in sunlight — or UV light
    • Develop your prints in water and watch the images appear

Duration: Allow approximately 1.5–2 hours, depending on the group size.

    What's Included
    Everything is provided, including:

    • 2 x A5 coated paper sheets in your choice of colour, or small square coated paper
    • Botanicals, feathers, shells, and natural materials (feel free to bring your own if you'd like)
    • Small wooden craft letters
    • Apron

    Good to Know

    • No prior experience necessary — suitable for complete beginners
    • Step-free access and disabled toilets available
    • Children must be accompanied by an adult
