This month we'll have two talks and a celebration of the release of Go 1.20 along with some prizes to raffle and cake! This event will also be available via zoom, link will be included for attendees soon.
Testing CLI Go applications with testscript by Jakub Jarosz
In this talk we will learn how to use the testscript package for testing CLI Go applications, how to extend it and how to use it's SDL along existing unit tests. The talk will cover a subset of this material (https://github.com/qba73/belfast-go-meetup) with some additional examples and lessons learnt.
Moving beyond containers with Go embed by Alan Bradley
Included in Go 1.16 was the embed package, this makes it easy to bundle an app and related assets into a single binary. Companies such as Sourcegraph have adopted this as a simpler means to run servers locally without the need of docker.
