Autumn is here, and that means it's time for the October edition of BelfastJS!

We'll be running a 'week early' this month, to avoid clashing with Hallowe'en, so this month's event will be on the third Wednesday of the month - the 24th.

Join us at the newly-minted SmashFly offices in Belfast city centre for food, drink, and another fine selection of JavaScript-related goodness! Many thanks to SmashFly for the hospitality!

In this episode:

  • Peter McAree will be delving into conversational UI and how to create our own chatbot from scratch in Node, including some clean coding practices
  • Zoe Gadon-Thompson explains how she created her own physics engine in JavaScript
  • Steven McCullough confesses, after many years of denial, how he's finally falling in love with JavaScript
  • SmashFly's own Wes Copeland outlines his plans to reclaim his Donkey Kong world record (!) using OCR techniques in Node and TypeScript
  • Matthew Huff delivers a quick aside on how he's injected some fun into the workplace

We're kicking off at 6:30 on the 5th floor of Arthur House. As always, we have a limited number of spaces so please RSVP responsibly and update your reply if circumstances change. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Please state dietary requirements when completing your RSVP!
