Whether to satisfy a curiosity or to understand a loan or pension calculation, he’ll aim to illustrate how we can benefit from the separation of concerns that a language for calculations proposes.

In this lightning talk, I am going to talk bout the experience of building an AI application in the browser, using other AI-powered libraries in the field of affective science. We'll cover computer vision, integrating models and what to do when the browser just can't cut it. I promise not to talk about ChatGPT or LLMs!

"Beyond local dev"
We will talk about how cloud development environments have improved and are now viable alternatives to developing locally. I'll talk about their pros, cons, and my personal experience of doing a lot of my work in these environments recently. I will live demo trying to fix a bug in a Node.js project locally, but run into lots of classic local dev env issues. I'll then do the same thing (clone the repo, install dependencies, fix bug, run tests) in GitHub CodeSpaces to demonstrate some of it's advantages.
