Session 1: Paul Andrew – Building Near Real-time Data Solutions in Microsoft Azure & Fabric
The velocity of data is getting faster across industries, driven by the demand for near real-time insights. With the growth of IoT and smart devices, the volume of high-velocity data has exploded—challenging architects to design solutions that can handle this scale.
In this session, Paul will address these challenges head-on, covering:

• Designing architectures that scale and burst for high-throughput events
• Using SQL and KQL to blend stream and batch data feeds for reporting
• Leveraging Azure Event Hub and Stream Analytics to ingest and process data streams
• Applying similar patterns in Microsoft Fabric with Event Handlers and Real-time Dashboards through Event House
• Understanding the difference between architectural patterns vs. tooling for delivery

Session 2: Branden Millward – Unlocking the Value of AI for Your Business: Where to Start
This session will introduce the fundamentals of AI, key terminology, and practical business applications. Branden will walk through when and why to use different AI techniques, equipping attendees with the essential knowledge to confidently engage with this rapidly evolving sector.
