Cave Hill - Ballyaghagan to Napoleon’s Nose

This is a walk through Cave Hill's Ballyaghagan nature reserve to McArt's Fort.

Please take note of the meetup location. Ballyhaghagan car park. It's on the Upper Hightown Road. You can get directions straight from your home by clicking on the location on this page.

The walk will take in the nature reserve, accessing the rear of Cave Hill and coming out at McArt's Fort before looping on back to the car park. The views are great on a clear day.

Distance is about 3 miles. Proper walking/sturdy boots/shoes only, with sticks/walking poles recommended as it can be muddy in parts.

Directions in old money: From A52 Crumlin Road, proceed to B59 Upper Hightown Road. Entrance to Cave Hill car park is half a mile along B59 on right.
