Talks:
- Joeri De Koster on Tearless
In the short term, with the Tearless project (http://soft.vub.ac.be/tearless/pages/index.html) our aim is to provide some enabling technologies and tool support for implementing offline availability, collaborative editing and confinement-related security policies. The enabling technologies will be provided through a number of javascript libraries that provide, for example, some eventually consistent data types to enable offline availability and collaborative editing. We aim to provide tool support for gradual incorporation of these libraries in existing code through code manipulation and transformation tools. For example, these tools would allow to automatically make certain server-side services offline available on the client-side by transforming the existing code to incorporate our libraries. In the long term, our aim is to bundle these different technologies and tools into our tierless vision in which multi-tier web applications are developed, tested and maintained as a single artefact that spans all tiers.
