The Hows & Whys of Streaming to Apache IcebergAbstract:
Streaming data is a critical component of modern data architectures, whether you're building real-time analytics, powering machine learning models, or streaming raw data into your data lakehouse. This talk explores how to determine your streaming needs and design a robust solution using Apache Iceberg. We will dive into some foundational tools that enable streaming pipelines, including Kafka Connect and Apache Flink, breaking down their roles and use cases in processing, transporting, and transforming streaming data. We will also highlight the unique features and benefits of Apache Iceberg, a next-generation table format built for flexibility and scalability.Bio:

Event Driven Identity Stitching at DPG MediaAbstract:
An in-depth look at how DPG Media leverages Apache Kafka to build an event-driven identity stitching platform that powers a unified customer view across its digital brands. In this session, we’ll explore how streaming clickstream events, real-time user activity, and enrichment pipelines come together to resolve fragmented identities into a single profile — all while maintaining scalability, reliability, and low latency. Discover the architecture, the challenges we faced, and the lessons learned as we stitched together billions of events to understand our users better and deliver personalized experiences.***
