Pedal on Parliament - Go Bike Feeder Ride Glasgow to Edinburgh (BLUE)

Details
This POP option is for those who would like to ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh and is being run by Go Bike. The distance will be just under 50 miles to The Meadows.
The ride will be led by my Go Bike colleagues Tricia and Jim and they will be assembling at the north side of George Square at 07:15 for a prompt departure at 07:30. The ride will be brisker than regular Go Bike rides and will principally follow the A89 - please be advised that you MUST be capable of keeping to an average speed of 12.5 mph as this is what will be required to get to the event on time for 12 noon.
A coffee break will be taken if possible but bring water and snacks with you to eat on the go in any case as the group will be under pressure to get to Edinburgh on time. Also please pump up your tyres well and bring along an inner tube suitable for your bike.
Due to the route (this will mainly be on busy roads), distance and speed required this is classed as a BLUE ride. It is make your own way home from Edinburgh and if you want to catch the train back that should be fine as long as everyone doesn't rush for the trains at once – take your time and make a day of it and it will be easier for everyone to get home!
A group from GRCM will also be joining in with this ride and many of them rode back to Glasgow afterwards last year. Some of the Go Bike riders are also considering doing this so it will very likely be an option too if anyone wants to ride whole or part of the way back; the A89/A8 route also provides the option to get a train at many points along the way.
I won't be on the ride personally as I am doing the Linlithgow one but for those that want to do the longer distance this is the one to go for!
