This is a monthly recurring event for general hanging out and rationalish discussion.

The format is up to us! To start off on this first meeting, I want to try the following:

  1. As much undirected, free-form discussion as naturally arises. This takes precedence over any of the below.
  2. Two relatively short pieces we can discuss if you feel like reading them (I will): The Cluster Structure of Thingspace by Eliezer Yudkowsky and A bridge to meta-rationality vs. civilizational collapse by David Chapman. I chose these because they're specific and not general surveys, so there is something concrete to sink our teeth into; yet they are relatively self contained; and one is classically Rationalist, the other arguably Post-Rationalist.
  3. Discussion about what we'd all like out of this group in the future. Longer-form reading series? Discussion of topics or of shorter texts? Working on projects or ideas together? More sitting or more active meetups? More caffeinated or more alcoholic options at our meetings? Just unstructured hanging out in a park?

NOTE: If anyone has artistic or design talent and wants to help us with a logo and/or banner image, that would be greatly appreciated. Just send me a message on here.
