Dr. Collier is the Director of Data Science & Engineering at ThoughtWorks where he leads a team of brilliant data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts. The focus of this practice is on advanced “big data” analytics solutions that combine adaptive data pipelines, modern data engineering, rigorous data science, and data savvy business analysis to create maximum value from data.

Ken’s excitement for agility in analytics started in 2003. As the author of, Agile Analytics: A Value-driven Approach to Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing, Ken is a pioneer in combining agile methods with data warehousing, business intelligence, data science, and data engineering. Dr. Collier is a frequent keynote speaker and invited speaker on big data, data science, and agile BI at international conferences and meetings. Ken holds an Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from Arizona State University where he studied software engineering, database theory, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. He has over 25 years of experience. Nearly half of those years as an associate professor of computer science engineering has honed Ken’s teaching and presentation skills; while the remaining years in the private sector as a developer, chief architect, project manager and team leader has honed his skills as a practitioner.
