Gravel Bike Ride, Madras, 42 miles, 1,900 feet of gain
Details
Funday, Sunday ….. The weather is looking warm enough to put down the skis and pick up a gravel bike. Madras is one fun place to ride, so join the Dirty Freehub team to do the route called Over the Rainbow. It's magical!
Here’s the route: Over the Rainbow Route Guide by Dirty Freehub
This is an ADVANCED ride due to some of the technical hurdles and part of the route is remote. NO tubes allowed due to the issues we have faced in the past with goatheads. (Which normally we don't hit goatheads this time of year, but it's a great time of year to check your sealant and to bring a spare bottle with you.). Sorry, no ebikes on this one.
I’ll be averaging around 11 mph. It’s a non supported ride which means you should be ok if you are on your own. But we will split the group in two .... faster and slower (my speed.).
The Erickson Museum is currently closed. But we will plan on parking in their dirt parking area just past the museum.
The posted time is when we ROLL OUT, not when you arrive. You must have the routes downloaded, know how to use your device, and have a bike that works. If the weather heads south, you can assume we will cancel.
