Gravel Ride: Suttle Lake, 43 miles with 3,000 feet of climbing

Details
Hot diggity … it’s the perfect time of year to ride. We love water-seeking routes that let us take a dip if it gets too hot. And routes with places to fill up empty water bottles. So why not tackle Sherman’s Waltz, but with the Suttle Lake start so we can dive in the lake after. (You will find the GPX file under the Alternative Start under Notes and Options. This is shorter than the Sherman's Waltz we normally ride.)
We will roll out at 8 am from the front of Suttle Lake Lodge / Boat House… so we can hit the Round Lake Climb right off the bat. If we get more than 10 cyclists, we can split the group and let the speedsters take off. If not, you will need to wait for the “back of the packers” including yours truly.
Here are all the details on Dirty Freehub: https://dirtyfreehub.org/routes/oregon/shermans-waltz/
Our ride is not meant to be a race but a social outing. After all, it’s nice to chat and get to know other people. The goal is to have fun, meet other people, and sneak in a ride. We will regroup at major intersections.
You MUST have the route downloaded and are able to use your device or phone. I plan on riding about 10 mph. We will pull out of the start, exactly on the posted start time.
If the weather takes a dive, you can assume we are canceling but we will also post a message on the Meetup page.
Sorry to say, but this is NOT a no drop ride. (Gosh, there are a lot of NOs in that last sentence.) but we WILL regroup a few times. This ride is also unsupported.
