Details

The weather is looking like June-uary, so let's take advantage and go for a gravel ride. The route is a mash-up of two Dirty Freehub rides and I'm calling it Rattlesnake in the Haystack. The ride will start promptly at 11:00 am from the Haystack Reservoir North Shore Fishing Pier parking area. The start is about a 45 minutes drive from Bend.

The last time I did this ride, it took me about 2hrs. With the sunny weather, I'm expecting a lot of excellent views so we may add a bit of time to enjoy them.

You should have the route downloaded and are able to use your device or phone. We will pull out of the parking lot exactly on the posted start time.

The Route:

You MUST have the route downloaded to a bike computer or similar device and be able to navigate from it. Why is this important?

Logistics:
Our ride is not meant to be a race but a social outing. After all, it’s nice to chat and get to know other people. The goal is to have fun, meet other people, and sneak in a ride.

The time posted on Meetup is when we ROLL OUT of the parking lot, so you can decide how much time you need to get ready.

Sorry to say, but this is NOT a no drop ride. (Gosh, there are a lot of NOs in that last sentence.) We do our best to keep the group together because this is a remote ride. But you also need to ask yourself if you are comfortable on your own. If not, this is isn’t a good ride for you. This ride is also unsupported.

If the weather takes a dive, you can assume we are canceling.

To Participate:

  1. You must be registered for the event.
  2. You must wear a helmet.
  3. You must be an adult, 18 years or older.
  4. You must be self-sufficient.
