Well, why waste time reading a political book originally in Latin by some Renaissance scholar?

• He wrote clearly about a world that maybe could be.
• Even after 500 years he makes sense and provokes arguments about the complicated world we live in today
• Thomas More is a very interesting person himself. And managed to offend Henry VIII enough to get his head chopped off.
• And we can't get enough of those Tudors, from Henry VII to Elizabeth I. Gossip and history! They were something. We would live in a very different world if they hadn't lived and ruled.
• Get one of the critical editions to help sort out More's interesting history and friends, the Tudors' complicated world, and some of the obscure classical and political references.
