🔴 ADVANCED RIDE: LOGE ➡️ Mt. Bachelor ➡️ LOGE Loop 🚴♀️⚡
Are you and your e-bike up for the challenge?
We’ll head from LOGE Bend up Century Drive toward Mt. Bachelor with a solid, sustained climb, followed by twisty loops around Kiwa Butte, then a rewarding descent back to LOGE.
When:
- Snow is fully melted on Century Drive and Kiwa Butte loops
- Trails are dry and not muddy
- Temps are at least 55–65°F at elevation
📆 Saturday, June 21, 2025
🕘 9:00 AM meetup, wheels rolling by 9:30 AM
This gives time for the sun to warm things up and avoids icy morning temps.
Where: LOGE Bend (check meetup spot in front of the main lodge)
Distance: 26 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,135 ft
Estimated Duration: ~2.5 hours
Roughly half the ride is unpaved, so gravel-capable e-bikes are recommended.
⚡ What you'll need:
- Fully charged e-bike (Class 1 or 3) - larger battery (>750W) is recommended!
- Off-road capable tires (gravel or MTB preferred)
- Helmet (required)
- Water, snacks, layers, and a good attitude
- Optional: GoPro or camera for epic photos!
🎯 Who’s this for?
Riders with good fitness and some experience with longer climbs and mixed terrain. If you’ve been craving a beautiful challenge in the Cascades—this is it!
💬 “Rauf zum Bachelor – das ist kein Spaziergang!” 😉
Translation: “The ride up to Bachelor is no walk in the park!”
🔴 Why Advanced?
Even with e-bikes, this ride is considered advanced due to the solid 2,135 ft sustained climb up Century Drive, the mix of paved and unpaved terrain around Kiwa Butte, the need for smart battery management on long ascents, and the technical demands of riding gravel sections confidently — requiring good fitness, bike handling skills, and self-sufficiency at high elevation.
