Tumalo Mt alternative!

Unfortunately, the trip to three finger Jack has been modified. The trip was planned without snow. There’s a big storm in the forecast for tonight and into the weekend. Let’s do Tumalo Mt instead! up with snowshoes or AT/split boards. Need gear???

Let’s go up TFJ via PCT where it crosses hwy 20. Summiting (the last portion) is optional.

The hike is moderate up to the ridge and hard once on the ridge due to loose rock/scree. At 12 miles round trip, with elevation gain and scrambling makes for a long day. Can you do it?

Carpool from Safeway Century Dr, bend. Depart parking lot at departure time.

Bring all of the day packing essentials, food and water, poles, gloves, hat, sunglasses, lotion, wind breaker (or light rain gear if conditions warrant). I will bring an emergency kit. It is late enough in the season it could get chilly, especially at higher elevations.
