We willl head East on Hwy 20 just past Horseridge Pass and shoot the stars. My goal will be the Orion Nebula. What would you like to shoot? Instructions will be available and together, we can arrive at a suitable subject for your equipment. Bring your camera (DSLR or Mirrorless), phone, or binoculars if just observing. Must have a tripod and, if using a phone, a phone holder with a tripod attachment. I have extra tripods and a phone holder if you don’t have one.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the night’s weather and bring a flashlight or headlamp with a red or green bulb. A red cellophane, covered flashlight, will do. I have a couple of extra flashlights with red bulbs to lend out too.
We willl observe the sky through an app or two and pick a celestial target or group of objects, for you.

Equipment:
Bring as many of these as you have. Camera or phone, your fastest lens (wide or long), a tripod, a flashlight, an intervalometer, binoculars, a tracker, and appropriate clothing for the night’s weather.

We will not be hiking and will be setting up on old asphalt.

Getting there:
We can carpool or you can take your own vehicle to provide yourself with the flexibility of returning to Bend early or late.

Weather:
Our outing I’ll be heavily dependent on the weather, right now it looks good but this is central Oregon.
There is a possibility of fog even though clear skies are prognosticated. If I need to cancel, I will post a notification so check often.
