State Capitol Cherry Blossoms at Night
Details
We will go to Salem to photograph “Yozakura” – a nighttime viewing of the cherry blossoms in State Capitol State Park. The third weekend in March is generally around the peak for the Cherry Blossoms.
We plan to photograph the grounds of the Capitol Mall in Salem from 6pm when state park rangers illuminate the cherry trees with Japanese lanterns through golden hour, sunset, and blue hour.
There should be plenty of opportunities to compose closeup and panoramic photos. It appears aerial drone photography is not permitted. Members may choose to pursue obtaining a waiver.
Since this event is scheduled during the dinner hour, it is recommended that photographers bring a picnic lunch to enjoy en route or on the grounds of the Capitol.
