Please join me for a sunrise shot at Smith Rock State Park! First off, who am I? For those who don’t know me, I am a native Oregonian raised in Portland, now living the dream in Bend! I joined Bend Photography two years ago. I also started the Portland Photography meet-up group while living there and ran that for 5 years with over 100 members. Bend is now my home.

Sunrises at Smith Rock can be spectacular! We’ll set up then wait for the sun to light up the mountains (hopefully no clouds).
Sunrise is at 6:05AM, let’s meet @ 5:15 and be ready to move down the trail at 5:30AM sharp. If you arrive late, just head down the trail and you'll spot us.

Day-use fees of $10 are required for Oregonians to park at Smith Rock State Park year-round, and $12.50 for non-residents. They are charged per vehicle, with three fee stations available.

Please plan to meet at the Visitors Center/Rest Rooms so we have time to take the short walk to the planned location and set up.
I am bringing my long lens, tripod, cable release, and headlamp.

Best to dress in layers as the temps can change rather quickly.

Optional breakfast at McKay Cottage in Bend after if interest.

NOTE: I WILL CHECK THE WEATHER FORECAST THE NIGHT BEFORE AND IF IT LOOKS CLOUDY, I WILL CANCEL THIS EVENT AND SEND OUT A NOTICE.
