Let's go back to one of our most popular hikes, Benham Falls East Day Use/Trailhead! There is quite a bit of shade, so this should be a comfortable summer hike along the Upper Deschutes and a chance to see Benham Falls from different viewpoints!
From the trailhead, we will walk half a mile towards Benham Falls. We will stop at the Benham Falls Overlook, continue on about 2 miles past Benham Falls, and then turn around.

Length: 5 Miles
Type: Out and back
Elevation Gain: 341 feet
Hiking poles optional.
Bring a snack or lunch.
No Dogs.
Bring plenty of water.
Bring mosquito spray.
Restroom available at the turnaround point.
Restroom not available at trailhead last time I was there.

Recreation Fee Site: Parking at this site requires a recreation pass May 1st – September 30th!!!!!

Directions:
From Bend: Travel South on Highway 97 and take the Lava Lands Visitor Center Exit to the right. Continue past Lava Lands Visitor Center on Forest Road 9702 for approximately 4 miles.
From Sunriver: the nine-mile drive Northbound takes about 15 minutes via S. Century Drive, Highway 97, and Forest Road 9702.
