🥾Hike 5.5 Miles Riley Ranch to Tumalo State Park And Back Moderate

Beautiful Hike along the Deschutes beginning at Riley Ranch, dropping into the tranquil canyon, and continuing on to Tumalo State Park. This will be 5.5 mile moderate pace out and back. No dogs.

I would not recommend tennis shoes. Hiking or trail shoes are recommended. Consider hiking poles if you have knee or foot issues.

This trail is all dirt and rocks. There’s only 410 feet of elevation gain. There is one steep section we navigate when we go down into the canyon and then back up to Riley Ranch toward the end of our hike. This is where hiking poles might be helpful for you, but not mandatory.

There are restrooms at the trail head, but restrooms at Tumalo State Park are closed for the season.
