DIRECTIONS: From Bend: Travel 6.2 miles West on Cascade Lakes Hwy (46), turn left at the brown MEADOW PICNIC AREA Road Sign. (It does not say Day Use Area on this sign). Turn onto FS - 4600. 100 (gravel road). Drive 1 mile South. As you enter day use area, continue to end of road. Look for my royal blue van.

3/6 Forecast for tomorrow: I checked various sources for Meadow Day Use Deschutes National Forest. It's usually more chilly there than other regions of Bend. We can expect **temps 57-64 degrees during our time on the trail and mostly sunny.**😎 See you tomorrow morning!

🥾🌲This is one of my favorite repeat hikes!!!
We are headed back to experience the sights and sounds of the Upper Deschutes on this beautiful 5 mile out and back MODERATE PACE Hike! I consider this a moderate hiking trail in terms of the trail conditions and our intended pace.

Much of the trail is flat, but there are rocky sections you have to navigate. That challenges your footwork, which is why I like to bring poles to maintain my balance on the rocks.

Our hike begins in the Deschutes National Forest at Meadow Day Use and our turnaround point is not too far past big Eddy. There are restrooms at the trailhead and Big Eddy. Poles recommended if you’re worried about your knees or need extra stability**. There are many, many rocks to navigate on certain sections of the trail.
