🥾 It's time for one of our Bendite favorite hikes! From Riley Ranch, we will hike 6 miles out and back at an moderate pace from Riley Ranch into the the Canyon Trail and continue to Tumalo State Park.
What to expect:
Forecast: 🌞 55 degrees and mostly sunny
Poles optional
Hiking boots or trail shoes are appropriate. I don't recommend tennis shoes.
No dogs
Bring plenty of water
Arrive 5-10 minutes early
Restrooms at trail head.
Directions to Riley Ranch Nature Reserve in Bend, Oregon:
From Highway 97 North in Bend, take Exit 135B for NE Empire Avenue.
Turn left onto Empire Avenue and drive for 0.5 miles.
Turn right onto O.B. Riley Road and continue north for 0.7 miles.
Turn left onto NW Glen Vista Road and drive for 0.6 miles.
At a sharp left turn in the road, follow Glen Vista for 0.1 miles and turn right into the parking area.

The reserve offers a variety of trails, including an accessible paved path near the parking lot and more rugged trails that lead down into the canyon toward the Deschutes River.
