We are organizing the datathon workshop at Bengaluru as a part of the WiDS Datathon initiative and as a WiDS Bengaluru preconference event. This workshop will provide directions on the how to write codes and use correct methodology/approaches to crack Kaggle datathons. The hands-on sessions, as well as demos, will help you become a pro in creating deep neural nets and boost your confidence to participate and win in Kaggle competitions which are highly regarded skills in the data science careers.

What will you get from this workshop?

  1. Fantastic mentors to coach and guide you in the datascience and datathon journey.
  2. Recognition for the top scorers in the elite WiDS Bengaluru Conference.
  3. Awesome opportunity to learn from domain experts on how to crack the Kaggle competitions to attract lucrative career opportunities.
  4. Opportunity to network with other data scientists in the field.

Agenda for the workshop:

  1. Deep Learning overview:
Introduction to Machine Learning and Neural Networks:
    Supervised/Unsupervised, Regression vs Classification, bias/variance,
loss functions, model evaluation (precision/recall/f-score), optimization
techniques, gradient descent, and CNN architectural overview.

  2. Insights into Kaggle competition, participation, and demo:
How to approach a datathon/hackathon problem? Best practices and
demo of one of the NN models on sample dataset.

  3. Networking event to get to know other data scientists and potential to form teams incase you have not formed a team yet.
