Relaxed pace hike along Bolles brook, Woodford

Hosted By
Tim M.

Details
Relaxed pace out and back hike along a beautiful wilderness stream, Bolles brook. We will hike 3 to 4 miles on a forest service road, with mild elevation gain. At the turn around point, we will explore remains of charcoal kilns, which were active in the late 1800's, and connected to Bennington via a trolley line. Fun fact: Bolles brook road was the route of the Long Trail up until the 1970's.
This hike is jointly sponsored by the GMC Bennington section and the Southshire Young Professionals.
We will meet at the Bennington Rec Center on Gage St at 1pm, then carpool to the trail head, which is just a 10 minute drive.
Leader: Tim Marr
