NOTE THAT THE MEETING TIME FOR THIS HIKE HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM 1:00 TO 12:00 NOON. BECAUSE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME MEANS LESS AFTERNOON LIGHT AND BECAUSE THE LEADERS ARE VOLUNTEERS LATE THAT AFTERNOON FOR THE BENNINGTON SOUP SUPPER THE HIKE IS MOVED TO AN HOUR EARLIER THAN ORIGINALLY PLANNED. This is a lovely walk on an old forest road to a very short trail leading
to the pond. There is a gentle elevation gain along the trail and then a loss of elevation on the very short trail going down to the pond. The total round trip is 5.1 miles with a total of 515 foot elevation gain. We'll stop at the pond for a snack and then retrace our route. Plan for 3 to 31/2 hours total including travel time, walking, and resting.
Bring water and snacks, hiking poles if desired. Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome.
