Join us for our second spring work day on the Long Trail. For this outing, half of us will work north from the Hell Hollow Brook to the Little Pond Cutoff trail, and half of us will work south from Hell Hollow to Maple Hill. We'll focus on clipping, clearing blowdowns, and repairing blazes.

We'll walk into Hell Hollow together via a shortcut from route 9, and split into our two groups from there. Both groups will return to cars that we will spot along route 9 ahead of time.

Each group will clear about 1.5 miles of trail, and walk a total of 5-6 miles for the entire trip. The club has several pairs of loppers to share, but feel free to bring your own loppers, clippers or handsaws for the days work. We will also supply paint and brushes for blazing.

We'll meet at the Bennington Recreation Center at 9AM and plan carpooling and car placement from there.

Long work pants, waterproof hiking boots or shoes are recommended. Bring work gloves, bug spray and rain protection. Pack a lunch, water and snacks. We can work in light, intermittent showers, but if the forecast calls for heavy or sustained rain, we'll reschedule at a time TBD.
