Hike the Bald Mountain Traverse

Hike this classic mountain traverse 6 miles from Woodford, VT on the east to Bennington on the west. This is classified as a strenuous hike with 1600 feet of elevation gain to the peak, then a 2150 foot descent, pausing at the magnificent views from the White Rocks. We also hope to find the mountain laurel in bloom along the crest and the lady slippers flowering in the forest.
We will meet at the Bennington Recreation Center at 9:30 AM and spot cars at the Benningon trailhead. We will carpool to Harbour Road in Woodford and begin our hike at 10 AM. Be sure to bring extra fluids, food, and clothing. Wear sturdy footwear, as there are rocks and roots along this trail.
Our rain date will be the following day, June 4.
