Bennington Trailfest Annual Event

THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY, NO NEED TO SIGN UP, JUST SHOW UP!

We look forward to seeing you at Trailfest on Saturday, July 25th. Free food and entertainment, info tables, used gear swap, prizes giveaway, and more. Hiker and local event combined! The event is held at the Bennington Skatepark located on Depot Street from noon to 2:30 pm.

AGAIN THIS YEAR: Used Gear Exchange! Donations of usable outdoor equipment are underway for this year’s Gear Exchange. Reach out to [bennatcommunity@gmail.com](mailto:bennatcommunity@gmail.com) or PM us on Facebook if you would like to donate. All donated equipment will be available for your selection at the trailfest. There is NO cost for acquiring any of the equipment: freely donated - freely given. Boots, hiking poles, skates, skiis, maps, compasses, backpacks, kayaks, roller blades, clothing, jackets, tennis equipment, books, tents, bug spray, first aid kits, … use your imagination and donate your usable outdoor equipment to assist others in celebrating our great outdoors."

FOR THRU HIKERS: Enjoy a zero day in Bennington! Rest your trail-weary legs and enjoy a comfy night off the ground at the Catamount Motel (500 South St, Bennington, VT 05201) on Saturday, July 25th. We’ve reserved 10 double occupancy rooms just for you . Add your name and email to reserve a spot. First come, first served, sign up now to reserve your bed!

There will also be free camping available Friday and Saturday nights. Shuttle provided to and from Trailfest and the Route 9 Trailhead on July 26 from 11 am to 3 pm; and shuttle to trailheads on Sunday morning to both Route 9 and other nearby trailheads. Free rides to resupply at local grocery stores on Saturday after Trailfest. We know you'll be hungry. Free lunch at Trailfest on Saturday. There will be a free pancake breakfast including eggs, bacon and coffee on Sunday morning. Bennington is home to great brew pubs, restaurants, and distilleries. We can't wait to welcome you to our hometown!

FOR THE COMMUNITY: Learn about the amazing hiking resources right in our backyard, learn tips and tricks from thru hikers and community members. Enjoy free food and entertainment with live music. A family friendly event with activities, informational resources, and giveaways.

In the event of extreme weather: the event is rain or shine. The rain location is TBD. Notice will be given if needed on Friday July 24 at 5 pm on the Bennington A.T. Community Facebook Page.
