(Tentative) Day Hike

A new month is here! Looking forward to another hike!

MEETING SPOT: The Main Entrance to Beppu Park
(roughly the South-east side/the bayside of Beppu Park). There is an archway, with bathrooms nearby.

Time: Meet at 10:30am, departing at 10:45am
If you are commuting, please factor in transportation times, walking, parking, ect.

WHERE: In Beppu, Ōita, Japan.

INFO: [Bring 3,000 Yen for the tram]

1. This day trip will be a walk/ hike from Beppu Park, up the river to the base of Mt. Tsurumi.
2. From there we will take the tram up [3,000 Yen round-trip] and explore at the top. The scenery is gorgeous!
3. We will take the tram back down
4. Depending on our energy level we could either walk back down to Beppu Park OR we could take a bus from the Tram back down near Beppu Park

HIKING SKILL: How much do you hike? This is probably a medium strenuous hike We will be walking uphill, and then possible back down. There is a combination of road and dirt paths. We will be hiking about 9.65 km (6 miles).

From Beppu Park, the hike is about 3 miles (4.83 Km). The time could take approximately 1.5 hours to get there. We can explore, take photos, ect, but we should leave no later than 3 so we can get back to Beppu Park before 5, when the sun sets.

PREPARING: Please come well rested and ready for a day's hike. Wear proper hiking boots/ comfortable shoes. Bring a daypack (backpack) with: sunscreen, lunch, snacks, a water bottle, and a jacket in case it rains (because it often does). If you have trekking poles, they are always nice to have!

IMPORTANT: If you have any medication you need (inhaler, ect) please bring that with you.

If you have a camera, please bring it to document our adventure! I will have mine! We are looking forward to "meeting up" with you on our adventure!
