Build and deploy - How to deliver code

You’ve written your code and pushed it to the repository — great work! But how does it actually make its way to the live server? And how can we make that process faster, safer, and more reliable?

In this workshop, we’ll walk through how to automate the journey from code commit to deployment. We’ll cover the fundamentals of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD), explore how automated testing and quality checks fit in, and discuss best practices for building confidence in every release.

This is a beginner-friendly, hands-on session designed to make deployment less mysterious and more manageable. Whether you’re new to automation or just want to refine your workflow, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how to deliver code efficiently — and with fewer manual steps.

Prerequisites

• A basic understanding of application development
• Some experience using git and GitHub

Preparation

• Bring a working laptop and a charger
• Install Google Chrome and Visual Studio Code

The workshop will be held at Thormøhlens Gate 55, pizza will be served at 17:00 in the common area. We will order food with the attendance list in mind, so we highly appreciate if you RVSP, so that we can order the order the correct amount of food :-)
