The Berkeley Path Wanderer Association turns 15 this year and we are celebrating at our annual Path-a-Thon! We can't think of a better way to spend a summer day than exploring and enjoying the paths you've helped us preserve and build over all these years. Pick one of the three following walks, then afterward at 11:30 a.m. join the whole group at Cragmont Park for cake and festivities. Rain cancels.
Join Elsa at 9:15 a.m. for an exciting visit to seven rock parks in North Berkeley. We'll head up the hill for one, then down to the Alameda before coming back up again. Lots of stairs and we'll need to keep up a fast pace to allow a little time for exploring. No dogs please.
Level: Difficult * Pace: Moderately Fast
Join Colleen at 9:30 a.m. for a hike deep into the path-rich hills of Northeast Berkeley. Views, lots of charming stairways as well as a peek at our current project, Twain Path, await us! Bring some water, your sturdy shoes and a sense of adventure! We won’t rush, but there will be plenty of steps and some steep roadways. Well-behaved dogs on leash permitted.
Level: Medium * Pace: Moderate
Join Lynn at 10:15 a.m. for a convivial ramble through the North Cragmont area. This is the perfect trek for friendly folks of all ages, dog owners or lovers, and anyone interested in the varied architecture, foliage and yard art in this charming part of Berkeley. The pace will be leisurely, however we do have a couple of moderately steep paths and we'll be traversing Keeler Path which is unpaved and uneven at times. Well-behaved dogs on leash permitted. Level: Medium Easy * Pace: Leisurely
