Breaking Our Habits of Being—All-Day Practice Group
Are you curious about how many of your daily reactions run on “autopilot”? Have you ever noticed how certain thoughts or emotions seem to loop endlessly, shaping your sense of self and how you show up in the world? Join us for this immersive, one-day practice group dedicated to disrupting these familiar patterns so we can reprogram ourselves to live more consciously and powerfully.
Rather than stepping out of everyday life, we’ll bring mindful awareness right into it—whether we’re working, running errands, or talking to friends. Together, we’ll illuminate the habits that keep us stuck and open new doors of possibility. As we shine a light on our conditioned ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving, we can begin to break free, creating space for greater clarity, compassion, and authenticity in how we move through the world.
How It Works
#### Morning Meditation & Intention (30 minutes)
- We begin on Zoom with a 30-minute guided meditation and collective intention-setting. You’re invited to share your aspirations out loud or simply hold them quietly in your heart. This morning session sets the stage for the day: a clear intention to notice and disrupt old habits wherever they arise.
#### Hourly Mindfulness Pauses (5 minutes or 20 minutes at :55 each hour)
- As life unfolds around you—work projects, household chores, grocery runs—you’ll integrate mindfulness into each activity. Just before the hour (at :55), we’ll collectively pause. Some hours, the pause will be 5 minutes; other hours, it will be 20 minutes (see schedule below).
- These mini-breaks are invitations to step out of “autopilot” and deeply reconnect with the moment. Recognize any patterns of thinking or reacting, and choose to respond differently—with more awareness and intention.
Evening Reflection & Meditation
- As the day winds down, we’ll gather again on Zoom for a longer meditation followed by group reflection. In sharing our experiences, we learn from each other’s breakthroughs and stumbling blocks, reinforcing the power of collective practice. Over time, these “interruptions” of habitual patterns can spark profound shifts in our daily lives.
### Your Day, Your Practice
- You decide how much or how little to join. Drop in briefly or stay from start to finish; both approaches are welcome. Take advantage of however many pauses fit into your schedule, or even just tune in for the final reflection.
- No single meditation method is required. Choose what resonates with you or try something new. The important thing is coming together to support one another in the shared goal of living less by habit and more by conscious choice.
### Why Break Habits Together?
- In a traditional retreat, collective silence and practice create a powerful container for change. Here, we weave that same intentionality into normal life. Knowing that others are also taking these mindful pauses throughout the day can strengthen your resolve, offering the encouragement and accountability we all need to break free from old patterns.
### Join Us
- Step into this all-day practice group and discover how pausing to examine and shift habitual reactions can open a path to deeper presence and authenticity. Through consistent moments of awareness, we’ll begin to reprogram how we think, feel, and act in the world.
