Midweek Walk: Marsworth and The Four reservoirs

The 6-mile walk begins from Startops Reservoir then passes Marsworth Reservoir before following a flight of locks along the Grand Union Canal. We turn on to a stretch of the partially restored Wendover Arm which has recently made a lot of progress. The route then diverts into open countryside before regaling the walker with a magnificent view of the large Wilstone Reservoir. Here, there this an option to enter a bird hide to view the many species who call this water their home at different times of the year. Tringford Reservoir follows before returning to base, making this a relaxing 6 miles of relatively easy circular route.

The walk starts from the Anglers Retreat pub car park opposite Startops Reservoir car park. It is best to use Google maps to locate the car park.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals.
