Midweek walk: Aldbury to Steps Hill

This is a 6 miles walk which should take about 2.5 hours. We set off from Aldbury and immediately ascend Tom's Hill before branching towards Little Stocks. We then cross fields towards Barley End. There is a gentle rise to Clipper Down then on to Steps Hill - fear not there is a gentle route rather the steep climb! We return through Clipper Down then Duncombe Terrace to the Visitor Centre. A downhill path to finish with options of where to eat and drink.

There is some parking in front of the pub but there is much more space along Trooper Road which is opposite Stocks Road. The full address for the pub is Greyhound Inn, Stocks Rd, Aldbury, Tring HP23 5RT.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals.
