Sunday Walk: Flaunden, Chenies Manor and Latimer

This is a 9.5 mile walk that should take approx. 4.5 hours. We begin on the Chiltern Way across fields and woodland from the village of Flaunden to the Holy Cross church at Sarratt. We then drop down to cross the River Chess & make our way up to skirt around the village of Chenies & past the Manor gardens. Then in the woods high above the Chess Valley we can stop for a drink/snacks break.
After our break we descend to cross back over the River Chess next to the weir. Taking a scenic path overlooking the lake we pass by Latimer House & circle Tooley’s Croft & Parkfield Wood to make our way into the village of Latimer. A short section of road then a mixture of woodland & tracks take us back to Flaunden where we can stop at The Green Dragon for refreshments.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack.
