Theatre producer Max Bialystock, once called the "King of Broadway," has just had his latest production, an adaptation of Hamlet titled Funny Boy, panned and shut down on opening night. His mousy accountant, Leo Bloom, harbors a lifelong dream to be a Broadway producer. When the duo realizes that an accounting error earned Bialystock more money than his shows ever do, they hatch a plan: raise $2 million in investments, create the greatest Broadway flop of all time, shut it down on opening night, pocket the money, and flee the country. It's a foolproof plan. Unfortunately for the duo, the show turns out to be a greater hit than anyone could have ever predicted, prompting them to ask themselves the question: Where Did We Go Right?
