Nettlebed South Circular, 10.5 miles, moderate

Details

This 10.5 mile circular walk from Nettlebed takes us past Greys Court (National Trust) through Kingwood Common past Stoke Row then back into Nettlebed.

This walk will be led by Alex.

Please see our website for more information about the group.

Pace: medium. Ascent: 257m.

Walk details

We start our walk in Nettlebed which, from medieval times up until the 20th century, was the major centre for brick, tile and pottery manufacture in Oxfordshire. Heading towards Greys Court, now owned by the National Trust, we then make our way to Kingwood Common and on to Stoke Row – home of the “Maharajah's Well”, which we won’t be visiting on this occasion but is well worth a visit if you’re ever in the area again. To finish our walk we head to English Farm, home to some very impressive English Longhorns, before turning east to head back to Nettlebed.
