Walk details
Today we will meet outside Alfriston Church and embark on our final journey along the South Downs Way from Alfriston to Eastbourne.
The final exhilarating stretch of the South Downs Way unveils breathtaking vistas of the Seven Sisters, the iconic chalk cliffs, and the picturesque coastline. Commencing this leg of the journey, we’ll meander alongside the tranquil Cuckmere River for a significant portion of the route, soaking in the serene surroundings before reaching the coast. Here, the landscape transforms, revealing mesmerising views of the majestic chalk cliffs and the vast expanse of the sea. Be prepared for some big climbs!
The culmination of the route will bring us to Eastbourne, offering panoramic views from the vantage point of Beachy Head.
