Saturday Stroll: Kintbury to Newbury, 6 miles, easy

This 6-mile linear walk takes us from Kintbury into Newbury along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

This walk will be followed by the Pottery Painting social (please see website for more details). If you are joining us on both the walk and the social please bring a packed lunch or you can get something from the shops in Newbury.

Today's linear walk starts at Kintbury station and follows the Kennet and Avon Canal straight into Newbury.

Travel details

By public transport

From Reading, please take the 0933 train arriving in Kintbury at 1018. From Newbury, please take the 1011 train arriving in Kintbury at 1018.

By car

As this is a linear walk you can either park in Kintbury or Newbury and get the train to the start/end of the walk as necessary. If parking in the station car park, charges will apply. If parking on the surrounding streets, please park legally and considerately.

• Please note: there is NO lunch stop on this walk.
• It might be muddy – please wear suitable footwear.
