Over to the Ton's (2nd) Favourite Gin, 7 miles, easy

Details

A meander through the countryside around Overton, with a brief stop at the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery.

This walk will be led by Shannon & Craig.

Please see our website for more information about the group.

Pace: gentle. Ascent: 151m.

Walk details

We'll head north from the station, cutting across fields to the Harrow way, an ancient pathway which ran across southern England. This section is mostly sheltered by trees.

After about four miles, we'll turn south to admire the houses in Freefolk, and stop for lunch by the church. Just down the road, we'll reach the Bombay Spaphire Gin Distillery, where we can use the facilities, explore the shop, and buy a drink, should you wish to.

After another few miles, we'll reach the centre of Overton, where – time allowing – we'll stop for another comfort break at the White Hart, ensuring we leave enough time for the one mile walk back to the station to make the last direct train back to Reading (the 16:17).

Travel details
