Virginia Water circular, 7.3 miles, easy

Details

This circular walk will take us around the 18th century Virginia Water lake.

This walk will be led by Michael.

Please see our website for more information about the group.

Pace: medium.

Walk details

From Virginia Water station, we'll be walking along the B389 Christchurch Gardens before passing the Virginia Water Lake Pavilion to the namesake lake. We'll then do an anti-clockwise loop to pass The Valley Gardens, Portnall Park and the ruins of Lepta Magna before returning to the Pavilion. To get back to the station, we'll walk back along Christchurch Gardens, where the station will be on our right. For those who want to walk a little bit extra, we'll be continuing to The Rose & Crown pub, which is no more than 15 minutes walking from the station.

Travel details

By public transport

The recommended train from Reading is the 10:35 SWR departure, which arrives in Virginia Water at 11:15.

By car

There's a small car park on the western side of the station, which is where we'll be starting.
