Details

A walk heading out of Oxford on the canal before passing Pool Meadows, joining the Thames to Wolvercote and on to Eynsham.

This walk will be led by Dave & Tim H.

Please see our website for more information about the group.

Pace: medium.

Walk details

We will head straight onto the Oxford Canal and then head into Pool Meadows before joining the Thames Path at the Melody bar. We continue on the Thames Path through various meadows before coming to the ruins of Godstones Nunnery.

After looking around the ruins we will head on past the Trout Inn into Wolvercote for a mid walk stop at the village pub. After Wolvercote we will retrace out steps to the Thames Path and continue to follow it past Godstones lock to come to Eynsham Village. We will walk into the village and the end of the walk.

From Reading, take the 10:15 train arriving in Oxford at 10:38. The E1 and S1 buses each operate every 15 minutes from Eynsham to Oxford for returning after the walk.

By car
