Hungerford Common circular, 8.2 miles, Moderate

Today’s Hungerford-based walk will take us around some of the local countryside, where we’ll start off by heading towards the Kennet & Avon Canal to follow it towards Kintbury. Once there, we’ll head towards the Parish church of Saint Mary the Virgin, Winterly Copse and Catmore Copse to walk pass St John Baptist de La Salle. After a few miles, we’ll reach a farm, at which point we’ll walk around it before heading towards Hungerford Common and back towards Hungerford station to finish the walk. For those who want to go to the pub at this point, we’ll be stopping off at The Downgate Pub for a pint, which is a short walk from the station.

TRAINS:
The recommended train to get is the 09:43 GWR service that arrives in Hungerford at 10:23. If you're travelling from Newbury, this same train departs from Newbury station at 10:12.

DRIVING:
Hungerford station has a good sized car park, where parking fees apply.

DOGS:
Dogs are welcome on this walk as long as they're well behaved.
