Going for Goring: A Chiltern Countryside Ramble, 9 miles, leisurely
Details
Join us for a 9-mile adventure through some beautiful Chiltern countryside, with rolling hills, pretty villages, woodland, panoramic views and plenty of peaceful country lanes and footpaths along the way.
We’ll start from Goring & Streatley Station and head out through Cleeve, before making our way towards the charming little village of South Stoke.
From there, we’ll climb up towards White Hill, where we’ll be rewarded with some fantastic views stretching back across the Chilterns. Hopefully there’ll be plenty of excuses to stop for a photo or two!
We’ll then pick up part of the Swan’s Way, following this historic long-distance trail as we skirt around Braziers Park and Woodcote, enjoying more of the beautiful countryside that this part of the Chilterns has to offer.
Our route continues along part of Beech Lane before heading into Wroxhills Plantation, where we’ll enjoy some peaceful woodland walking.
From the plantation, we’ll begin our journey back towards Cleeve and eventually return to Goring & Streatley Station, completing our 9-mile circular adventure.
Please bring a packed lunch, as we’ll be stopping somewhere along the route for a picnic lunch. So bring your walking boots, your sandwiches and your best walking smile — and let’s go Going for Goring!
